The variety is cultivated in the northern and north-eastern part of Lesvos, on Chios and in the areas of Edremit (formerly Adramytion, where it originated) and Ayvalik. The olive variety bears medium-sized fruit and ripens in November. It produces olives and a moderate amount of olive oil of excellent quality.
