Olive variety Adramytini – Edremite

Olive variety Adramytini (Edremit), Aivaliotiki (Ayvalik), Fragolia or Mytilinia

The tree grows up to 8 m high. The variety is cultivated in the northern and north-eastern part of Lesvos, on Chios and in the areas of Edremit (formerly Adramytion, where it originated) and Ayvalik. The olive variety bears medium-sized fruit and ripens in November. It produces olives and a moderate amount of olive oil of excellent quality. The olive oil is blond, light and very aromatic, with notes of freshly cut grass, unripe bananas, flowers in bloom and a lingering hint of wild herbs.
